| After Hours & Emergency
The practice provides 24 hour care with a deputising service. Our after hours service is provided by Family Care Medical Services. They are based at Caloundra Public Hospital in West Terrace, Caloundra and provide home visits when necessary. For details or appointments phone 1300 550 911. Our surgery phone is also diverted to this number after hours. Transfer of Medical Records A computer generated medical summary will be forwarded to a requesting GP free of charge. Any records that require photocopying or posting via registered post or are requested by an insurance company or solicitor etc. will incur a fee. This practice will not accept a patient's previous medical record until the patient has had a consultation and the treating doctor requests their history. As this practice has computerised medical records, we will only request and accept a summary from your previous doctor, not a complete paper record. Telephoning your Doctor Although most problems are best dealt with in a consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice. Our staff are experienced in helping you decide whether the matter requires an appointment, a return phone call from the practice, or urgent advice. Why is it important that you tell your doctor your cultural and ethnical background? The delivery of care in General Practice in Australia is undergoing changes. This practice in particular is promoting the benefits of Chronic Disease prevention and management through early intervention, patient education and lifestyle changes. Many chronic diseases such as Diabetes and Chronic Heart Disease are linked to genetic factors so your family history and cultural background can affect your risk factors. Also, Immunisation schedules are different for some population groups. |
